Sticky spiced nuts are hard to resist & now to top it off, we've added a touch of caffeine to give you the extra buzz to go with your protein fix. Just a bit different but oh-so-very República! 

 

2 tablespoons República South American Instant Coffee

2/3 cup Caster Sugar

1/2 teaspoon Cinnamon

1/4 teaspoon Nutmeg

1/2 teaspoon Salt

1 Large Egg White

4 cups Mixed Nuts (Cashews, Pecans & Brazil Nuts work really well with this recipe!)

 

Directions:

  • Preheat the oven to 160°C
  • Line a deep baking tray with baking paper
  • In a large bowl, whisk sugar with egg whites until frothy
  • Add the spices, coffee & salt to the egg white mixture & mix well
  • Pour in the nuts & toss to coat well
  • Spread the nuts on the baking tray in a single layer
  • Bake for 5 minutes & use a spatula to turn over the nuts to the other side
  • Bake for further 5 minutes or until the nuts are dry to touch
  • Let the nuts cool on the tray
  • Transfer to airtight container & keep at room temperature
